CTC Analytics

Combi PAL

CTC Analytics' Combi PAL is the only GC sample injection system that combines liquid, large volume, headspace and SPME injection in one single instrument. Its application areas include environmental, food/ beverage/ consumer products, forensics, chemicals/polymers and pharmaceuticals.

Key Benefits

  • Liquid injection, static headspace, SPME, SPDE and thermal desorption combined in one single instrument
  • Liquid injection volume of up to 250µl for large volume applications
  • Syringe-only concept; no sample loops, transfer lines or valves
  • Injects into different injector types without hardware modifications
  • Top-mounted, thus saving benchtop space
  • Uncompromising precision & sample capacity
  • Interfaces with any major GC or GC/MS system

GC PAL

CTC Analytics' GC PAL is an autoinjector that can handle up to six different syringe sizes, which cover an injection volume range of 0.1µl to 500µl. Besides liquid injections, the GC PAL can sample up to 500µl of headspace in a 2mL/10mL or 20mL vial. Its application areas include environmental analysis, forensics, food/beverages/consumer products, combinatorial chemistry, petrochemicals, polymers, pharmaceuticals and online monitoring and process control.

Key Benefits

  • Superior accuracy and reproducibility combined with optimum injection flexibility
  • Add-on features: barcode, flow-through cell, micro- and deepwell- compatible
  • Injection volume of up to 500µl for large volume applications
  • Injects into different injector types without hardware modifications
  • Remote control software for customized prep and load cycles
  • Top-mounted, thus saving valuable benchtop space
  • Interfaces with any major GC or GC/MS system

ITEX Option for Sample Concentration

In-tube extraction and direct thermal desorption using proven industry standard adsorbents (Tenax TA, Carbotrap, Carbosieve etc.); syringe-only concept for transparent sample handling, no sample loops, transfer lines, or switching valves; top-mounted on GC's, saves valuable bench space; no GC injector modifications, no cryo-focussing necessary; interfaces with any CombiPAL System, controlled by all major GC/GC-MS.

Mixing: Interval mixing 250rpm – 1500rpm prior to sample extraction

Steps of CombiPAL ITEX Cycle

  1. Sample is heated and / or agitated in a sealed sample vial until equilibrium is achieved
  2. The Trap needle pierces the vial septa and the syringe pumps the headspace through the Trap
  3. The loaded ITEX Trap is flash heated up to 350°C and desorbed into the hot GC Injector
  4. After thermal desorption the hot ITEX Trap is cleaned with inert flush gas
