2010 Don LaBerge Memorial Golf Tournament Summary
The Annual Don LaBerge Memorial Golf Tournament is an event originally started by ALS Environmental to support Alberta Cancer Foundation, bring together companies in our specialized industry and in remembrance of the great contribution Don LaBerge brought to our small community.
2007 marked the first year of this tournament and the contribution to the Alberta Cancer Foundation was $9,005. In 2008, the contribution was $13,982.
In 2009, K'(Prime) Technologies offered to take on coordination of this annual event with the Western Enviro-Agricultural Laboratory Association agreeing to use their name in support of the cause. K'(Prime)’s involvement not only kept the tournament from disappearing altogether but also opened the opportunity for participation of all companies in our field.
The first year of K'(Prime)’s leadership skyrocketed the funds raised for the Alberta Cancer Foundation to $24,607.56, almost double the previous year and triple the year prior.
We have just completed 2010 and although the current economic downturn had an effect, the total funds raised were still considerable at $20,470.
This tournament has raised a grand total of $68,064.56 over the past four years and K'(Prime) has agreed to continue coordinating this event as long as companies within our field want to continue to attend.

Agilent Introduces the U9320A 8500 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope
The Agilent 8500 FE-SEM is a compact system that offers researchers a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) right in their own laboratory. The innovative 8500 has been optimized for low-voltage imaging, extremely high surface contrast, and resolution typically found only in much larger and more expensive field emission microscopes.
About the size of a laser printer, the easy-to-install 8500 provides convenient plug-and-play performance. No dedicated facilities are required, only an AC power outlet. The novel scientific-grade system offers several imaging techniques for enhancing surface contrast and allowing nanoscale features to be observed on a wide variety of nanostructured materials, including polymers, thin films, biomaterials, and other energy-sensitive samples on any substrate, even glass.

Welcome, Cristian Vinturache to the K'(Prime) family. Cristian joins us as a Technical Service Representative and had knowledge in a wide range of GC and GC/MS products. He arrives from a service position from Varian Canada. Previous to this, he spent some time as a service representative for Agilent Technologies. Welcome aboard, Cristian.
